Friday Jan, 29. We are up bright and early so we can load our Toyota Highlander 2010 with everything we need for 7 weeks. The downhill skis and boots, snow shoes, tennis rackets, golf clubs, winter clotes, summer clothes and of course a supply of liquid refreshments. Our goal is to make it beyond Lincoln Nebraska. Our mission was accomplished we landed at York, Nebraska population about 8000 people. We checked into a Days Inn, there are only about 5 hotels in York. After checking in I logged on to www.tripadivsor.com to see if they had any opinion of the facility we had chosen. The review was not good they talked about things I really didn't want to hear about or read "bed bugs". We ignored the write up and found a great restraunt in town called Chances R I think everyone in York was there. The food was good and probably the least expensive meal we will have in the next week. The night of sleep was alittle restless I expected to wake up with blood sucking insects on me but to my surprise there were no insects and the room was very clean. On the raod to Vail

Thursday Jan. 28 Getting ready
Bob and I are starting a great big trip for the next few weeks. Does anyone know what it is like to pack all the things you want to bring in a bag? I am trying to bring the kitchen sink and all the pots and pans and there isn't any room. I am quickly learning to down size. We will be heading off on Friday and be in Vail, Colorado on Sat to meet up with friends Kathy and Jerry. We will be doing the snow dance in hope of great skiing for the next week.
